Our travels on Route 66!

I'm slowly completing our Vegas 2015 vacation digital scrapbook - yay!

I was able to use a 'clip art' road that I googled; I cut out the white background and softened the edges using a filter. I also Google mapped the area of Route 66 we traveled on and used 'print screen' to copy the image and paste into the layout.

It's amazing the sense of accomplishment you feel when you set a goal and complete just four pages a week!

Recently, someone asked me how many pages the album would be... when I said 100, they thought I was NUTS! Well, maybe I am! But I figure that if you invest in a vacation and take the pictures, you are better off spending the money on a book you will have forever than trinkets and t-shirts you pick up in the souvenir shop, plus you should print the pictures anyway, so why not in a beautiful book?

YOU CAN DO IT TOO! What's your page completion goal?
Do you have a project you want to complete and need some help?

My Digital Book Challange

YAY - I did some more digital scrapbooking this weekend!

I have been challenging myself to complete at least two 2-page digital layouts each weekend; one 2-page layout Saturday and then another on Sunday. It's not much, and I would LOVE to be able to do more but I am happy with having a goal, and it seems to working - and sometimes I do MORE!

For me, it also takes time to edit the photos and then do any on-line research I would like to include in the book. I'm happy to say I've been doing well so far! One of the projects I am working on is our trip to Vegas. I don't work in order of how it's going to appear in the book, I complete the layouts that I 'feel' like scrapbooking on that particular day and then re-arrange the pages as I need to. This helps me to be more creative as I am working on what I want to!

I do however, find I am a bit 'boring' when it comes to embellishing my digital layouts. I see soooo many ideas out there with layers and layers and layers of embellishments. But I have come to realize I am 'a square' when it comes to design - I like nice clean lines! I really just want my photos and text to be the main focus on my page. So I keep the embellishing to a minimum. Sometimes too, I like to get all the photos onto the pages with background papers, titles and journaling, then go back and embellish the layouts - not necessarily the best way to do it, but sometimes I just can't wait to see the photos on the pages!!!

What about you? What's your style... Simple or Elaborate?

Here are a few pages I've been working on.....
Enjoy!

Blue or Gold?

Yep, I'm jumpin' on the bandwagon!

Blue/Black or Gold/White... which do you like best? (Comment below)
Both pages are created with Artisan software use the same photos and embellishments, just different background paper and neutral (black or white).

Blue & Black
This design really makes the colour in the photographs stand out.

or
Gold & White
This design evokes the feeling of calmness and nature.

What's with the Blue/Gold debate anyway.... check it out!

Artisan 4 Software

So, I finally made the switch from Creative Memories' StoryBook Creator Plus 4 to Panstoria's Artisan 4! Hubby gave me a NEW laptop for Christmas and I was a bit aprehensive about downloading the program, I thought it would take so much time - but it was surprisingly EASY!
Click to purchase

MY Simple Transfer Tips
1. Back up your Content
2. Save your Activation Codes
3. Purchase & Download Artisan Software
4. Import Content
5. Import Activation Codes

The Artisan program works EXACTLY the SAME as Storybook, I can use all the Storybook content I already have, my projects open and work the same way and now I can download NEW content from Panstoria (and old CM content too) and print directly to their Print Shop for my photo books and more.
So why not make the switch yourself?

Happy Scrapbooking!
